Ultimate Travel tips and Frequently Asked Questions for Disneyland Paris [2023]

Is Disneyland Paris fun? Yes, for sure! I had a lot of fun and spent 2 nights with my partner! In this post, I provide the most important information by answering the most frequently asked questions about Disneyland Paris, especially if you are visiting Disney Paris for the first time. So, here we go!

Is Disneyland Paris worth it?

Many people say Disneyland Paris is the least fun of all Disneyland Park. I have never been to all of Disney Parks, but I still had a lot of fun at Disneyland Paris! Why?

If you compare it with other Disneyland Parks, Disneyland Paris has the least amount of people, and you DO NOT have to wait in line for that long!

I have been to Tokyo Disneyland, it was great, and I loved their souvenirs, parades, etc. In addition, you can fully enjoy the Disney vibe there, but you have to wait hours in line.

For Disneyland Paris, 1 HOUR MAX and if you make the most out of FAST PASS, you do not need to wait that long! Moreover, it is easier to take pictures with Disney Characters!

Disney Group has invested A LOT of money in Disney Paris since 2018. When I was in the park in October 2019, there were still working on new attractions!

Disneyland Paris crowd calendar

Summer is the most popular season to visit the park due to school holidays around the world and summer time. If you want to avoid the crowd and spend less money but still enjoy the good quality of your trip, September and early October is your best shot. September is still warm, and can still enjoy more daylight.

How many days should I stay?

It really depends on your travel style!

Some people like to walk fast and have a busy day at the theme park, but some enjoy their time and see the little detail!

If you come with kids, I advise you to spend at least 2 days at the park. Doing so can take your time with the kids at the park. If you are young and energetic, 1 day is enough to visit 80% of the park. However, you most likely miss the detail at Disneyland Paris.

How to get to Disneyland Paris from Paris? from the Netherlands?

By car: the most flexible way, but the official parking fee is EUR 45. Free parking for Disney Hotel guests! Click here for a special discount from Europe Car.

Train from Paris? Take a regional train (RER) Line A from Paris to Disneyland and get off at Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy Station. The ticket price is EUR 15.

Bus from Paris? It is possible. Combi special ticket (admission ticket + return bus ride) for Disneyland Paris.

From the Netherlands: Thalys offers a direct train from Amsterdam/Rotterdam to Disneyland Paris. It is fast and comfortable. You can book it here.

When can I get into the park? What is the timing for the parade and fireworks?

There are 2 parks in Disneyland Paris: Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studio Park.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park is set up like a Magic Kingdom, and the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle is here! Moreover, Micky Mouse and other Disney characters are waiting for you!

Walt Disney Studio Park

Walt Disney Studio Park is where you find Disney show attractions! Highly recommend you take Studio Tram Tour: Behind the Magic! It was super cool!

Each park has its own opening and closing time, but Walt Disney Studio Park is closed earlier. In addition, park hour is also based on the season. Click below for office Park Hours:

Official Park Hour

Highly recommend visiting Disneyland Paris on the weekday instead of the weekend. If you can only go on the weekend, it is more crowded on Saturday than Sunday. If you prefer to visit in Summertime, I strongly advise you to visit in June, September or early October, so you get cheaper rates, and the park is less crowded.

Magic Hour

If you are a guest from one of Disney Partner Hotels, you can access the park before the official open time. This is a BIG BONUS to Disney hotel guests!

We stayed at one of Disney Partner Hotels, and of course, we enjoyed Magic Hour. It was early October, and only a few people were inside the park!

No need to wait in line for popular attractions. If you fully utilize the magic hour, you can try all the popular attractions! In addition, I also took a few pictures with Disney Characters!

Download Disneyland Paris App on your phone! The app tells you the time for a live show, parade, and fireworks and where you can meet Disney Characters!

Any tips for visiting Disneyland Paris?

Bring your stroller!

If you travel with kids, it is best to bring your stroller. You can easily spend your day at Disneyland Paris walking around!

Bring Refillable Water Bottle!

Water is important during your stay at Disneyland!

Please bring refillable water bottles, so you save money and are good for the environment. You can easily refill your bottles at the cafe in the parks.

Do not rush to souvenir shops!

Many people or kids would first visit souvenir shops when they had just arrived! Trust me that kills a lot of precious time, and you will have plenty of time to shop around!

My strategy is: to visit souvenir shops only when I am tired or during my break! Plus, I buy souvenirs before I leave, so I have plenty of time to think about what I want/like, and only buy the things I really want.

As a big Disney fan, it is easy to buy many souvenirs! Calm down and think about what you really want!

Check the weather forecast before you go!

If it is not summer, be sure to check the weather forecast! If needed, please bring a raincoat or umbrella with you!

Any tips for food inside the park?

Bring your own food if you are on a budget!

On average, EUR 15 per person if you dine at one of the restaurants inside the park. Moreover, you must wait in line for a long if it is around lunch and dinner time!

We did not expect to spend that much money on food alone! However, we recommend you visit Restaurant Hakunama Matata, inspired by Lion King, and Fuente Del Oro Restaurante, inspired by Coco’s. The atmosphere of these two restaurants is extremely good. I was very happy when I ate there as I am a big fan of those two movies!

How about food outside the park?

If you are thinking: the food is expensive only inside the park. Then, you are WRONG!

Outside the park, it is Disney Village! They are also expensive! The whole strategy is to make you spend a lot of money. You can find McDonald’s and Vapiano at Disney Village, but they are more expensive than anywhere else!

Should I visit both Disney Park and Walt Disney Studio Park?

Definitely! They look similar but very different!

Walk Disney Studio Park

I strongly recommend you take Studio Tram Tour! It is so cool! In addition, you have to visit the Ratatouille section, where they make you feel like you are in the movie scenes from Ratatouille!

Disney Park

offers many exciting roller coaster rides! Also, attractions for kids! I like Disney Park the most. They maintain the park very well, making you feel like you are in a wonderland!

Do I need to speak French inside the park?

French is not required. English is all you need inside the park. However, if you want to learn a bit of French, this post shares more than ten ways to say Cheers in French.
